Fawlty Towers dining experience comes to New Zealand

From Sunday Morning, 9:35 am today

Since starting out in 1997, this Fawlty Towers-themed show and supposedly all-round culinary adventure has toured in 43 countries worldwide.

Now for the first time it is coming all the way to New Zealand.

The show is produced by Jared Harford from Palmerston North. Amusingly, Palmerston North is the only place in the world where there is a rubbish dump named after John Cleese.

Hawke’s Bay’s Allison Pollard-Mansergh is the show’s writer and artistic director.

She joins jim to preview the comedy stage show, where guests are served a 1970s-style three-course meal over the japes of Basil, Polly, Manuel, Sybil, Major Gowen et al.
