A former Human Rights Commissioner is accusing the government of killing off a critical report on the way it's handled hundreds of cases of children abused in state care, a deal between the Maori and Mana parties is expected to be finalised by the end of the year and Auckland's only Maori boarding school, Hato Petera, has been thrown a lifeline by the Ministry of Education.
