Today marks the tenth anniversary of raids carrying out by armed police on the Tuhoe settlement of Ruatoki. It will be remembered as a dark moment in Tuhoe's history alongside the arrest of Rua Kenana in 1916 and the confiscation of Tuhoe lands in the late 1860s.
