Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects one in seven people. Melbourne teacher Elle Joy was diagnosed in 2013 and found, like many others with the condition, that a diet low in FODMAPs - short-chain carbohydrates naturally occurring in many foods which aren't properly absorbed in the gut keeps her symptoms under control.
She's created the website FODMAPHealth.com and an eBook of certified low-FODMAP, gluten-free recipes.
She shares with us her recipes for Zucchini Pasta, Rainbow Lean Beef Sesame Stir-Fry and Lime, Ginger & Coconut Balls.
Elle's recipes are based on a low-FODMAP diet especially developed by Monash University researchers to provide relief from irritable bowel syndrome.
