Disruptor, activist and one of the most influential designers of the 20th and 21st centuries Vivienne Westwood began designing in 1971 in London, defining street culture of Punk and becoming a symbol of British avant-garde. Claire Regnault, Senior Curator New Zealand Culture and History at Te Papa joins The Weekend to discuss the exhibition that showcases iconic designs from Vivienne Westwood's prolific period between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s. Te Papa will be the first venue in the global tour of Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery, hosting four decades of garments, ensembles and over 550 pieces of jewellery. Curated and designed by the house of Vivienne Westwood and produced by Nomad Exhibitions, Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery opens 17 January.
