The Panel with Scott Campbell and Holly Walker (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 7 March 2018

What makes osmeon successful? Is it hardwork, talent or smarts? A new study says it may just be luck. The research over a 40-year period found that no matter how being smnart and talented doesn't mean you'll be rich. How our lives turn often come down to a roll of the dice. We ask the panelists whether this is disappointing, or if they suspected this was the case all along... What the Panelists Scott Campbell and Holly Walker want to tak about. A kiwi scientist has come out today saying if a big tsunami hits, we should be fine on higher ground. It comes after a US geophysicist simulated what would happened to our coast if there were an earthquake in the Hikurangi Subduction Zone - he predicted most of the east coast would be underwater. We speak to Archaeologist Bruce Mcfadgen who has studied the massive tsunami that hit hundreds of years ago about what happened then. We continue yesterday's debate on whether we should continue daylight saving through the winter months, and read more of your feedback. Listener Isla Burgess from Cromwell joins the discussions. Claims of debauchery and binge-drinking a law school events have moved from Otago to Auckland. There are tales of nudity and drinking from the The Univeristy of Auckland's law camp, similar to those revealed about the Univeristy of Otago's law camp from former students. We ask why faculty members seem to be sanctioning this kind of behaviour and why it seems to be a part of the law industry culture. The panelists discuss the issues, as well as the investigation into sexual harassment at law firm Russel McVeagh.
