The Panel with Leonie Freeman and Guy Williams (Part 2)

From The Panel, 4:05 pm on 25 September 2018

Scammers are putting many people off answering their phone. A company that makes caller ID and call-blocking software says last year 3.7 per cent of all calls to mobile numbers were spam, this year it's 29 per cent and they predict that'll rise to 44.6 per cent next year. What the Panelists Leonie Freeman and Guy Williams want to talk about. Just how reliable are traffic cameras when it comes to snapping your car interior to check passenger numbers? Auckland man Sumit Samant has a tale to tell. And Traffic lawyer Steve Cullen talks about whether tinted car windows means some people are getting away with breaking the rules. He also discusses speed cameras saying if authorities really wanted to stop speeding they'd have big signs indicating their presence. The proctor of the University of Otago Dave Scott has credited the benefit of hindsight in issuing a mea culpa over his nabbing several water bongs from a student flat. He says he was trying to avoid involving the Police in the matter.
