Christmas reimagined: māori Santa

From The Panel, 4:40 pm on 3 December 2018

Christmas is fast approaching and advertisements and parades are in full force. In the UK an ad for BBC calls for people to send more time together.

Meanwhile here in New Zealand, Nelson's Santa Parade has embraced biculturalism with the traditional santa suit ditched for a red korowai worn by Robert Herewini.

The organisers feel santa as an old man with a white beard is a bit out of date now. Not everyone is happy with the portrayal.

We see what the panelists think.
