The Panel with Emma Espiner and Jonathan Krebs (Part 2)
Singer Mariah Carey is back in the Billboard charts as her "All I want for Christmas" anthem is played repeatedly in the lead to the holidays. However older Christmas songs have had some backlash, particularly "Baby Its Cold Outside" for its somewhat concerning lyrics. It has been taken off some radio waves. The panelists tell us whether they think these songs cause much harm. What the panellists Emma Espiner and Jonathan Krebs want to talk about. A University of Otago study has found investing in cycleways and walking paths encourages people to drive less, based on results from New Plymouth and Hastings. It's suggested that walking and cycling replaces short communtes, the minority of what we drive overall. However there has been a lot of unhappiness over cycle lanes in a number of cities including Dunedin. City Councillor Lee Vanervis explains what the problems are there.
