What do YOU think is New Zealand's best beach? Mount Maunganui has been voted New Zealand's best beach, in the TripAdvisor 2019 Travellers' Choice Awards, for the sixth time in a row. Four Bay of Plenty beaches are in the top ten, including Papamoa and Ohope. We ask the panelists what they think is our best beach. A proposed sign to the entrance of entrance of Mataura is causing consternation. Council officials have decided to srap the proposed red and black M, after people brought up that it has connotations of the mongrel mob, which has a big presence in the town. The panelists tell us what they think of the sign. We spoke last week about the high cost of dental care in New Zealand and now the NZ Medical Asociation has lent their weight to the call for more affordable dental care, saying significant disparities exist in oral health across the country. Dr Kate Baddock, chair of the NZMA, explains why they're joining the call. An Interesting piece written recently on the issue of transgender sporting participation. Tennis legend and activist for LGBT rights Martina Navritalova waded into the debate, saying the rules could be manipulated in favour of male athletes. The panelists weigh in. Hillary Clinton has confirmed she won't run in the 2020 US election. She promises to stick around though and 'speak up for what she believes'.
