The Panel with Emma Espiner and Thomas Pryor (Part 1)
The Black Caps lost to England in the Cricket World Cup final. New Zealand gave it their all but were denied the win after a tied game and Super Over. By all accounts one of the most extraordinary finals ever seen. We get reaction from our Cricket Commentator Zoe George. Nearly 400 people handed in 542 guns in the gun buyback scheme over the weekend. The total compensation amounted to just over $1 million. There's is no gun registry though, so it is difficult to say whether the number of guns handed in over the weekend has reduced the number of guns to any significant extent. We speak to Professor Kevin Clements, Peace and Conflict studeis at the University of Otago, about the scheme. It is understood that John Banks is seriously considering another crack at the Auckland Mayoralty. Banks was Mayor of Auckland City but lost to Len Brown in 2010, vying the be the first Super city mayor. He wants to rein in spending but says he's not ready to declare his candidacy. We ask the panellists whether he has anything to offer the race.
