Episode 224 features an interview with Chinese Pipa player Wu Man, an extraordinary musician and woman who has, been described by The Boston Globe as : “…one of the rare musicians who has changed the history of the instrument she plays.”. Wu Man is a virtuoso of the 4 stringed Chinese lute called a Pipa and is regarded as the world’s premier ambassador of the instrument. Wu man has just released a new album called ‘Flow’ with Kojiro Umezaki who plays the shakuhachi flute, a Japanese end-blown flute commonly constructed from bamboo.
