Police are responding to a two-vehicle crash in Oxford, North Canterbury, involving a truck and a van.
Eight people have been injured - three with moderate injuries, and the rest with minor injuries - Hato Hone St John Ambulance said.
Three St John vehicle crews were working at the scene on Friday morning, they said.
The crash on Main Street was reported at 7.25am and the road was blocked.
