Police are investigating a fire at an abandoned property in the suburb of Manurewa overnight.
Fire and Emergency staff asked officers to attend the blaze at Bowater Place at around 3.20am.
The house has been extensively damaged; however no one was inside at the time.
Police said a cannabis growing operation was found inside the property.
Police and fire investigators will be at the home on Friday trying to determine if the fire is suspicious.
There is a scene guard in place.
Police have requested that if anyone saw any suspicious activity on Thursday night they should contact them on 105, using the reference number 250404/5277.
