The man shot by police in Motueka yesterday remains in a critical condition in Wellington's intensive care unit.
Ford Hurinui, who was wanted by the police for breaching parole conditions, was shot after half an hour of negotiations with Tasman District police officers.
The 27-year-old was flown to Wellington hospital last night after surgery in Nelson hospital.
A Capital and Coast District Health Board spokesperson said there had been no change in his condition, and he remained critically ill.
