Entries have opened for the Favourite Places to Cycle awards, with cyclists asked to vote for the rides they most like.
The competition is run by the Transport Agency, and its national cycling manager Dougal List said Rotorua's Redwoods had won the overall award for the past two years.
But he said Redwoods was facing some tough competition from rides in Taupo and Queenstown.
The award categories include national cycle trail, off-road, commute, and on-road ride.
People can vote through the agency's Bikewise website, and the winners will be announced in March.
