New Zealand is being identified as one of the most vulnerable countries for cyber attacks in the Asia-Pacific region.
Deloitte's Asia-Pacific Defence Outlook for this year - to be published tonight - says it appears nine times more vulnerable to such attacks than 13 other nations.
Four countries are ranked as equally vulnerable - Australia, Japan, Singapore and South Korea.
The reason given is that they are more heavily dependent on the internet.
China and India are regarded as less vulnerable, because they have a lower proportion of infrastructure and government systems connected to the internet.
