A woman charged with the murder of Taranaki man Rex Karaitiana earlier this month can now be named.
Helen Joyce Rose appeared via video link this afternoon in the New Plymouth District Court where police withdrew a charge of wounding with intent.
Mr Karaitiana died in Taranaki Base Hospital on 3 June from stab wounds police say Ms Rose inflicted in Eltham two days earlier.
The 46-year-old's lawyer did not apply for interim name suppression to be continued today.
Judge Gary Barkle remanded her in custody for a callover appearance in the High Court at New Plymouth on 4 July.
