Casual labour provider AWF Group is confident it will find work for its foreign recruits despite a slowdown in construction work in Christchurch.
Chief executive Mike Huddlestone says the last couple of months have been poor in Christchurch but he has no doubt the rebuild will take off and jobs will be found.
He says Christchurch seems to be suffering from more politics and insurance issues than anticipated and there are signs that contractors are considering leaving.
Mr Huddlestone says there is a continuing struggle to find good quality, skilled workers.
He says AWF Group will commit to placing recruits in work in New Zealand and will look after them for the next 12 months, in some cases helping find accommodation, particularly in Christchurch.
