Tourism Holdings is hoping that more and more Chinese tourists will be attracted to the idea of taking campervan holidays in New Zealand.
Chief executive Grant Webster told the annual shareholders' meeting that law changes in China which came into effect last month which ban cheap shopping tours provide his company with an opportunity.
His company, which operates the Maui, Britz, Kea and United camper van brands, is aiming to make Chinese tourists one of its top five markets for bookings.
Speaking after the meeting, Mr Webster said the new law is likely to lead to more independent travellers from China coming to New Zealand.
