New Zealand business leaders say an invitation to attend a major business summit hosted by Australia, when it hosts the G20 group of nations is a great opportunity.
During bilateral talks in Sydney on Friday, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott invited senior New Zealand businesspeople to attend the meeting and take part in Australasian Business Week.
Auckland Chamber of Commerce chief executive Michael Barnett said the only way to build the economy is through exports, and being part of the gathering is a good platform from which to promote New Zealand.
Mr Barnett said a lot of work needs to be done to convert the opportunity into trade and growth.
