Wynyard Group is partnering with British-based Radio Tactics, which develops intelligence and evidence-gathering equipment used by law enforcement and military organisations around the world.
The partnership will let such organisations capture and extract data from seized mobile devices and connect it to other data sources.
Wynyard develops security software used by government agencies and other organisations to help assess threats.
Chief operating officer Paul Stokes said its software would be taken to Radio Tactics current customers, and both companies would look for new potential partners.
"What Wynyard will be doing is integrating our software into their hardware solution to further enhance what it does for its customers," Mr Stokes said.
"The first step in the partnership is to take the Wynyard solution to the current customers of Radio Tactics and look to enhance the service they already have."
The second stage would be to go to new potential customers for both of them.
On Monday, the New Zealand Stock Exchange announced it had chosen Wynyard Group's software to help monitor the marketplace.
