The Earthquake Commission (EQC) has appointed the former head of ACC claims management as its new chief executive.
Sid Miller will replace Ian Simpson, who left the Commission in December to take up the role of chief executive at GNS Science.
EQC chairman Sir Maarten Wevers said Mr Miller was suited to lead the organisation in a new direction.
Sir Maarten said EQC needed to prepare for future disasters as it finalised its work in Christchurch and Kaikōura.
Mr Miller will begin his new role mid-Feburary.
