Twelve staff based in the city have been offered employment in other areas.
The airline said it went through a consultation process with staff last year as it moved its maintenance operations to areas where its aircraft were based overnight.
It said Hamilton was the last port in the process.
Air New Zealand also had four staff in Blenheim and two contractors in both Napier and Invercargill.
Most of those have remained with the airline in other centres.
Last week the airline was heavily criticised for plans to shut down its Kāpiti service, following moves three years ago to stop flying to Kaitaia, Whakatāne, Westport and Taupō.
