PIke River Coal says ventilation to its coal mine is now fully restored.
The company says the bypass has been completed on time and within budget and production at the mine, east of Greymouth, can now push ahead.
The main 108-metre air shaft was blocked by a rock fall in January, stopping production.
Pike River says it is on schedule to send its first export shipment of 60,000 tonnes to Japan in the September quarter.
