New vehicle registrations rose in February for the second consecutive month compared with the same time last year.
The Motor Industry Association says there were more than 5600 new registrations.
Chief executive Perry Kerr says there has been a 13.3% increase in the number of passenger cars being registered, with the figure for commercial vehicles up 7.4%.
