Channel Infrastructure says 55 million litres of private storage capacity is now available at Marsden Point, with more capacity expected to be commissioned later this year.
The former Marsden Point refinery operator said the permanent decommissioning of its refinery process plant was in its final stages, as it transitioned to being a fuel import terminal in late 2023.
Chief executive Rob Buchanan said the point's critical infrastructure had proved resilient during Cyclone Gabrielle.
"While there have been some schedule impacts due to recent severe weather events, critical work continues at pace to complete the contracted private storage capacity, helping our customers build greater resilience into the transport fuels supply chain," he said.
Buchanan said terminal and pipeline throughputs remained strong, with 810 million litres in the first three months of this year, up 10 million litres from the same time last year, with demand driven by aviation recovery.
Conversion costs were tracking to budget, Buchanan said, with about $145m spent on the project to date.
