b] New Zealand's biggest egg supplier Mainland Poultry is forecasting profitable growth as it hunts for a buyer.
Mainland, also known as Zeagold Foods, was exected to sell for about $400 million.
The firm sells about $50m a year in eggs under the Farmer Brown and Woodland brands, in addition to food service companies and exports to South East Asia.
It sold some of its land holdings and leased them back in 2022.
The Australian Financial Review reported the company was circulating a flyer to prospective buyers forecasting Mainland's underlying profit to double over the next five years, as it expands into untapped greenfield and brownfield sites.
According to the flyer, egg-based products made up 66 percent Mainland's forecast revenue for 2024, while feed was expected to deliver 34 percent.
Mainland owner Navis Capital appointed Australia's Luminis Partners to manage the sale of its 100 percent stake in Mainland, last year.
