More than 1400 new Covd-19 cases were reported in the past week.
But the overall trend was down, with the seven day rolling average of new cases down 165.
To 16 December, there were 1402 new cases and eight deaths at least partly attributed to Covid-19.
In its last update on 9 December, the Ministry of Health announced there were 1631 new cases and six deaths where Covid-19 was a contributory factor.
There were 144 people in hospital with the virus at that time.
As at midnight Sunday, there were 85 people in hospital.
