England have posted a much-needed Cricket World Cup victory, beating Scotland by 119 runs in Christchurch.
Following thrashings by Australia and New Zealand, the English badly needed to beat the Scots and beat them well, and they did that in the end, on the back of a century from man of the match Moeen Ali.

Ali, who also took two wickets with the ball, set up the English total with his knock of 128, after Scotland won the toss and sent them in to bat at Hagley Oval.
England made 303 for eight, then bowled the Scots out for 184 in the 43rd over.
Scottish opener Kyle Coetzer top-scored for his country with 71, but only three of his team-mates reached double figures. Steven Finn was the best of the England bowlers with three for 26.
There's no doubt who the pick of the England batsman was, as Ali put on 172 for their first wicket with Ian Bell.
But when Bell fell for 54, the centurion Ali followed soon after, and 10 balls after that the English were four down for the addition of just two more runs, with Ballance and Root out for 10 and one respectively.
Three more wickets fell in their last two overs too, the captain Eoin Morgan putting on a much-needed 45-run partnership with Jos Buttler, who made 24.
And Morgan almost made a welcome half century before he was caught for 46 in the final over, Chris Woakes going the same way next ball for just one.

Josh Davey was the pick of the Scottish bowlers, claiming four wickets for 68, including the last two to fall.
