Paralympic shooter Michael Johnson will be the New Zealand flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on Wednesday evening.
The tetraplegic won gold at Athens and bronze in Beijing.
The announcement was made in London on Friday.
New Zealand has 26 athletes at the Paralympics, representing seven sports.
