Sophie Pascoe has won another medal at the Paralympics in London.
She took the silver medal in the women's S10 50m freestyle on Friday, winning in a time of 28.24 seconds.
The medal is her second at the London 2012 games, following her gold on Thursday in the 200m individual medley.
Pascoe, 19, set a new Paralympic record of 28.41 seconds in her heat, though it was short-lived, broken in the next heat by Canada's Summer Ashley Mortimer.
Mortimer went on to win gold and set a world record of 28.10 seconds.
The team's high performance director Mal Humm said Pascoe was expecting to win the gold in her second event, and was "a little bit dejected" at ending in second place.
"She's obviously got high standards, high goals but she's come through that and she's looking forward to tomorrow, to the butterfly.
"Then she's going to get a two-day break before she faces her final three events."
In the S11 100m freestyle, Mary Fisher set an Oceania record as she powered to a silver medal.
The Wellington swimmer took the second spot in a time of 1 minute 9.83 seconds. Italy's Cecilia Camellini won gold in a world record 1 minute 7.29 seconds.
New Zealand has five medals at the end of the second day of competition and is 13th on the medal table.
