Peter Martin of Waikato finished sixth in the javelin at the Paralympics in London on Tuesday.
His biggest throw in the F52/53 javelin of 15.26 metres was not enough to gain a higher place among the nine competitors.
''I'm pretty disappointed,'' he said afterwards. ''I haven't had the best build up with injuries and so forth, but I just haven't been able to find the form I had at home.''
Martin, 50, a farmer, previously competed at the Atlanta Paralympic Games in 1996, Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004.
He retired from international competition before the Beijing in 2008.
