Motorists travelling along State Highway One between Kaikoura and Blenheim should expect long delays after several slips partially blocked the road on Wednesday night.
One of the slips which completely blocked the road and required heavy machinery to remove.
There is also flooding on State Highway One from Blenheim to Waipara and between Timaru and Oamaru and on State Highway 83 from Kurow to Pukeuri.
