Police say the body of a Hastings woman may have been lying in her home for three weeks before they were called on Wednesday.
Officers who went to the 37-year-old's home at 7.30pm found her body in the kitchen.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, which has been referred to the coroner.
They say she lived alone.
