Police are concerned about a West Coast man missing in Waikato.
Leslie Wright had been staying in a camping ground in Te Kuiti, but left on Monday for a day trip.
Police said on Wednesday that where the 63-year-old intended going is a mystery and he has not been heard from since.
They say because of his interests, Mr Wright may have gone to old gold mining sites near Waihi and Waikino, or on bush walks near Pirongia or further south.
Mr Wright is fit and has no known health problems.
Police say he may have had a driving accident and are asking land owners to check their properties and adjoining roadsides for any sign of Mr Wright or his silver NIssan Pulsar hatchback.
