Police are still investigating whether a warehouse fire which killed a teenager early on Sunday morning in Rotorua is suspicious.
The body of the girl, believed to be a local, was found at the scene on Riri Street in the suburb of Mangakakahi after emergency services were called there at about 2.30am.
Two other teenagers were taken to hospital with severe burns, and four others between the ages of 11 and 17 suffered from smoke inhalation.
All but one teenager, a 17-year-old male, have been discharged. He remains in a critical but stable condition at Waikato Hospital with burns to the face, chest and arms.
Police say that hours earlier, they were called to shut down a party at the address where four teenagers were arrested.
However, police say there's no suggestion they were at the address when the fire started.
Detective Senior Sergeant Graham Perks says the cause of the fire is still unknown.
"There's no specific information to suggest the fire was suspicious at this stage, but it would premature to obviously speculate on that until the scene examination is complete."
