The Canterbury tourism industry will be given a funding boost to help attract overseas visitors back to earthquake-damaged Christchurch and the region.
Prime Minister and Tourism Minister John Key has announced $600,000 will be given to the Canterbury Tourism Partnership to support the rebuild of the tourism sector in the region.
The Canterbury Tourism Partnership says it's targeting the Australian holiday market and visitors from China after tourist numbers dropped following the earthquakes.
It is also hoped the partnership will boost commercial opportunities for tourism operators across the region.
