The owner of Main Street Lodge in Kaitaia, Michael Harris, is charged with drugging, assaulting and filming some of his guests during the past two-and-a-half years.

The 56-year-old faces 39 charges involving 16 men, mostly overseas tourists aged between 18 and 25.

The police say they had received a number of calls and emails from further potential victims worldwide, including another two people who made contact yesterday.

Mr Harris will next appear at the Kaitaia District Court on Thursday.
