An investigation into how police dealt with complaints about John Banks's electoral returns is complete - but the findings will not be shared because of ongoing court proceedings.
Complains were made to the Independent Police Conduct Authority three years ago that the former MP had failed to properly declare details of donations for his 2010 campaign for the Auckland mayoralty.
Police decided not to prosecute, but a prosecution was taken by a private citizen, Graham McCready.
Mr Banks was convicted, but that conviction was subsequently set aside and the Court of Appeal was now deciding whether to scrap plans for a retrial.
