Whanganui District Council said more rain forecast for the area in the next four days may cause further slips and are urging drivers to take extreme care.
The area was swamped two weeks ago, causing major flooding.

While all urban roads are open, there are still ten road closures in rural areas with more slips coming down as the ground dries.
The council said roads remained dangerous in the area and any rain would affect the clearing work being done.
Meanwhile heavy rain and high winds are forecast for the South Island's West Coast and the upper North Island.
Bursts of heavy rain are also likely over parts of the upper North Island tomorrow, which Met Service said could cause rivers and streams to rise rapidly. It says slips were also possible.
A warning of severe gales, gusting to 130 kms/hr, has also been issued for Wellington and Wairarapa.
