The union representing meatworkers has called off a planned strike at AFFCO sheds tomorrow and a rally at Parliament on Tuesday.
About 1000 meatworkers were threatening strike action after talks between the Talleys-owned company and the meatworkers union failed.
The two sides have been trying to reach an agreement for almost two years.
In a statement this afternoon, the Meatworkers Union said it called off the strike following a meeting with Andrew Talley and a group acting on behalf of iwi leaders.
Staff at the eight AFFCO sites will meet in the coming days to consider developments.
