The road toll for the Queen's Birthday holiday now stands at six, surpassing the number of deaths during last year's long weekend.

A man also died in a crash on State Highway 2 at Mount Bruce in Wairarapa this morning. Four other people injured in the accident were taken to hospital by helicopter.
One person died in a three-vehicle crash at Greta Valley, north of Christchurch yesterday evening.
A motorcyclist also died yesterday afternoon after crashing into a parked vehicle at Flat Bush in South Auckland.
One person died in a car crash at Te Kuiti yesterday morning, and a man died in a crash at Waikouaiti north of Dunedin on Friday evening.
The toll for the entire Queen's Birthday weekend last year was five.
Police warned drivers of low-lying fog around Woodville and Pahiatua in Tararua District.
They reminded drivers to take extra care and to ensure their headlights were on.
