A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a three-month old Southland boy, more than two years after his death.

The baby died in Starship Hospital in Auckland in January 2014 after being found at his Riverton home suffering serious injuries.
Police said a man had been charged with murder and appeared in the Hamilton District Court yesterday.
The man, who has interim name suppression, was expected to reappear today.
