One person is in hospital in a critical condition following a fire in Hastings last night.
A central ambulance spokesman said emergency services were called to the suburb of Frimley shortly before 11pm.
The injured person was taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
The patient remained in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
The fire was at the rear of a house on Lardon Place and the cause will be investigated today.
