Police and search and rescue teams in the Coromandel town of Whitianga are increasingly concerned for the safety of a 19-year-old man who's been missing since last night.

Lucas Cochrane was last seen just before midnight at a function at the Whitianga Fire Station.
He's not from the town and does not know the area well.
Mr Cochrane, who has sandy-coloured hair and is of medium build, was wearing a black t-shirt, dark blue jeans, black cap and white Nike shoes with red and blue on them when he went missing.
