A man has died in a shooting in the Hawke's Bay settlement of Mohaka.

Police said the 42-year-old man was shot at the property this morning.
Police and ambulance were called to the address just before 11am after receiving reports that somebody had been shot.
Officers arrived shortly after and arrested a 62-year-old man at the address.
The victim had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter spokesperson Laura Hyde said its helicopter was called out, but turned back after emergency services said the person had died.
Police believed the victim and the offender were known to each other. They were not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
