A 28-year-old man has been charged after a repeated stabbing put another man in a critical condition Paeroa last night.

The injured man, 43, remains in a critical condition after being stabbed in his home in Paeroa last night.
Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said the man was stabbed following an argument and his injuries include a punctured lung.
Emergency services were called to the Bush Street home just after 11pm.
Police said the stabbing happened during a fight between three to four people at the house.
A man appeared in Hamilton District Court this morning charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, Mr Wilson said.
