A family escaped a major fire at house in the Auckland suburb of New Lynn this morning.

At the height of the blaze, 13 fire trucks were at the scene and crews had to be called in from other stations.
The Fire Service said a child was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation though everyone got out of the house.
An investigator will be looking at the cause.
