A 46-year-old man who was reported missing overboard after falling from a boat in Tasman Bay this evening has been found after he swam to shore and walked home.

Police said they were alerted at 5.45pm, and have one helicopter and four boats searching for the man in the water near Rabbit Island.
Teams were also conducting a land search of the island.
The man fell from a 4m boat, but swam to shore at Tahunanui Beach, and walked back to his nearby home, police said.
